What is Te Papa Hauora Health Precinct?

The Health Precinct, located in the city of Ōtautahi Christchurch, is a unique, dynamic and collaborative environment.

 

It is a thriving campus where those within health, across its many areas, can easily converge, chat and connect.

Te Papa Hauora brings people together to share, learn. educate, inform and collaborate within the Precinct.

Christchurch Hospital, the largest tertiary, teaching and research hospital in the South Island, Christchurch Women’s Hospital and Christchurch Outpatients.

Three word-class tertiary institutions, offering a wide range of undergraduate and post graduate health programmes with pathways for career progression.

Centres of research excellence, such as the NZ Brain Research Institute, Christchurch Heart Institute, Child Well-being Research Institute and numerous specialist research groups.

An endless pool of talent, students, researchers, educators and health professionals, Canterbury is renowned for its high-quality research, education and healthcare.

Within the Precinct

Manawa

Situated in the heart of the Precinct, Manawa is a purpose-built facility for health education, research, and professional development activities, events and programmes for over 2,000 students and staff from across Te Papa Hauora partners.
Across the road from Christchurch Hospital, Manawa provides students with easy access to educational and clinical resources, clinicians and students flow freely between the hospital and education and research spaces.
It is a dedicated place for workforce development, teaching, learning and professional development across a range of registered health professionals and others working in health.

Simulation Centre

A purpose built Simulation Centre  for health professionals and students to practice in a realistic setting.

Learning Rooms

A variety of teaching and learning rooms across different levels.

Research Spaces

A dedicated space for research activities.
