Since 1987, CMRF has hosted an annual public lecture, presented by an esteemed Professor, on their research area of expertise. This year we are delighted to welcome Professor Tony Kettle from the Mātai Hāora – Centre for Redox Biology & Medicine in the Department of Pathology & Biomedical Science at the University of Otago Christchurch.
The title of his presentation will be “Connecting the dots between fundamental research and health in Aotearoa New Zealand”. It will include how our fundamental scientific research has helped us improve health by providing a better understanding of diseases, new clinical tests, targets for new drugs, and drug development expertise.
He will give examples of what his research group has achieved in the past and what they are proposing to do in the near future and will focus around infections and inflammatory diseases.
