Abstracts for the Health Research Society of Canterbury (HRSC) Emerging Researcher Awards 2026 are now open. This is a great opportunity for undergraduate, postgraduate students and early-career postdoctoral fellows to present their work to an interested and friendly audience (and there are prizes!).
Emerging Researcher Awards Presentations:
When: 5:00-7:30pm, Thursday 15 October 2026
Where: Manawa in the Health Precinct (Rm 302), 276 Antigua St
Presentations will be 10 minutes, with 2 minutes for questions.
Abstract due: 27 September 2026
Abstracts should be formatted with headings – Aims, Methods, Results, Conclusions. They should not exceed 200 words. Title, Authors & Affiliations are NOT included in the 200-word limit (Times New Roman font, 12pt).
Register your abstract by emailing Nadia at info@hrsc.org.nz and include ‘HRSC Abstract Registration 2026’ in the subject line.
Prizes:
CMRF Prize for Best Student Talk – $500
CMRF Prize for Best Early Career Researcher Talk – $500
(Student = Undergraduate, Honours, Masters, PhD, or Medical students; Early Career Researcher (ECR) = within 5 years post-PhD)
You must be a member of the HRSC to be eligible for a prize.
