We’re talking hauora research talks 2026

For those lucky enough to join us on the night of our popular research talks, they were treated to an exceptional line up of speakers across health in Canterbury. A HUGE thank you to our speakers for contributing their mahi and time.

Topics ranged from ED admissions for children to cell phone bans in school and their implications to youth health.

Discussions included water and nitrate levels and its effect on health, to heart health in our vulnerable populations.

We learned the impact of weight lifting in Māori women and whanaugatanga, shifting then to individual cell health and implications individual cells collectively can have on our ageing.

Including young people in mental health programming was covered, as was the perspectives of clinicians on the new assisted dying legislation.

It was a fantastic evening of kōrero, recording is to be released soon! For other recordings of past events, look HERE
